Shy Sky
Shy Sky, 2025, Wills Projects, Australian Space Agency and Renewal SA
A South Australian Satellite charts a celestial platypus. Existing beyond the exosphere, in the imagination of consciousness the platypus swims through the galaxy connecting us into the past and future. The celestial platypus represents the earth's flora and fauna existing in space, therefore linking us to space and beyond.
A map line referencing the coastline of South Australia situates us and leads towards the first image a satellite ever took of the earth from space in 1959.
This work speaks of earth and space interconnections and relationships, of how we can collectively understand our place whilst encouraging innovation and imagination.
